Annette & Andy Witheridge purchased The Salty Monk in 1999 and after an extensive sympathetic refurbishment it has been transformed into a haven of luxury.

Originally a Salt House used by the Benedictine Monks who traded Salt at Exeter Cathedral The Salty Monk is set in the unspoilt natural beauty of Devon.

A perfect place to stay to explore or escape for a romantic break, wedding or honeymoon. A wealth of fantastic things to do locally with the nearby Cathedral city of Exeter, Dartmoor, antique centres of Honiton & Topsham, or maybe one of the many golf courses nearby or a visit the famous Donkey Sanctuary.

Both chefs by trade with an eye for meticulous detail they pride themselves on using the best of Devon's larder with home grown or organic produce wherever possible. The restaurant provides elegant surroundings in which to enjoy a relaxing lunch or romantic dinner. As everything is made on the premises people with dietary requirements have no need to worry.
